Asterisk is a Nepal based handicraft company. In order to support the Nepali handicraft industry and give employment opportunities to the deprived community members, particularly women and ethnic groups. Asterisk was founded in 2010 as a family-run handicraft company. This was done with the goal of empowering these individuals on the social and economic fronts and providing them with benefits like health care and education for their children. Our training programs, which equip them with the necessary skills for their jobs inside the organisation, help them lead normal lives.
We also conduct Occupational Health and safety training as per requirement. Prioritizing occupational health and safety trainings within our company is not just a legal obligation but a moral imperative. We understand that the well-being of our employees is paramount, and investing in comprehensive training programs is key to creating a safe and conducive work environment. As we all know that mental health is more necessary than physical health, Asterisk provides Anapana Meditation practice as Mindfulness training to the workers. We celebrated women’s day with Mindfulness training.

Beyond waste reduction and recycling, we also prioritize proper disposal of non-recyclable waste through responsible waste management practices. We adhere to all applicable regulations and guidelines to ensure safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials. Through regular audits and assessments, we continuously evaluate and optimize our waste management processes to minimize environmental impact and maximize resource efficiency.
Asterisk provides financial awareness to the workers, the Branch manager of Nic Asia bank shared about the Banking insurance and claim process to the workers who have accounts on the Nic Asia Bank. Also Asterisk provided the Initial Public Offering filling Training with the help of Sampanna Capital and Advisory Nepal. Asterisk has encouraged the staff for monthly saving programs to their staff in women’s cooperatives and also use financial instruments as per their requirements.
Asterisk has a biannual health checkup program in the office as well as, we distribute free emergency medicine to our staff and families. The health check of gynae and general medicine is focused by the doctors.
The second wave of COVID made problems all over Nepal and on April 26, 2021 the Government of Nepal announced a second wave of lock down of Kathmandu and other major places of Nepal as a public health measure to help slow the spread of COVID-19. The second wave of lock down restrictions is still going on till date and the people of Nepal are afraid of the third wave.
Asterisk International Services was prompted to address the situation created by covid and distributed mask, Sanitizer, oximeter to all the employees and their family and other people like health workers, Police, social workers and frontlines.
